Poll results: Are you planning to jailbreak iOS 8 on your iPhone 6 or iPad Air 2?

With an easy iOS 8.1 jailbreak fast approaching, we asked you last week whether you plan on breaking the shackles of your newly-acquired Apple gear, such as the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, or iPad Air 2.
Jailbreaking is not for the faint of heart, but brings numerous new horizons to your otherwise rather closed iOS ecosystem. Apple didn't introduce split-screen multitasking with the new record-thin iPad Air 2, for instance, but who knows, a jailbroken iPad might be able to tap into the Cydia repos for precisely such functionality.

As for the new iPhones, now that the gang from Cupertino is much more open when it comes to third-party widgets in the notification center, and even allows alternative keyboards for your handset, it doesn't make as much sense to jailbreak as it did before. Or does it?

Well, it seems that the majority of our 1483 voters are indeed intending on opening up their iDevices to new possibilities, and waiting for a quality jailbreak procedure to give it a go. Still, 36% of the respondents are happy with Apple's new phones and tablet as they are, and won't bother with hacks and mods for the time being.
